Routine cleaning
A Weekly Low-Dust Home Reset Plan
Build a simple room-by-room reset plan using EPA indoor-air-quality information as a research reference.
Materials
- A calendar or weekly checklist
- A clean microfiber cloth
- A vacuum appropriate for your floor type
- A laundry bag or hamper for washable textiles
Steps
- Choose one regular time each week and list the rooms you will reset, starting with the most-used spaces.
- Pick up loose items first so routine surface and floor care can be completed without moving chemical products around.
- Review the EPA indoor-air-quality source linked below and use it as context when deciding which housekeeping tasks belong on your list.
- Work from higher reachable surfaces toward the floor using the methods recommended by the manufacturer of each surface or appliance.
- Finish by laundering washable cloths according to their care labels and recording which rooms still need attention next week.
Safety and boundaries
- Never mix bleach with ammonia, acids, vinegar, alcohol, or other cleaners.
- Use equipment only as its manufacturer directs and keep electrical equipment away from water.
- This is a general housekeeping planner, not advice for mold, pests, medical conditions, or hazardous-material cleanup.
