Austin Household Collection-Day Staging Reset
Organize indoor recycling, compost, and trash staging, then use Austin Resource Recovery’s official My Schedule link to check your household information.
Materials
- Three clearly labeled indoor staging containers
- A small reusable tote or tray for items to sort
- A wipeable household checklist
- Internet access for the official My Schedule link
Steps
- Choose one indoor spot where household items can be staged without blocking a walkway, exit, or work surface.
- Label separate containers for recycling, compost, and trash so items can be sorted before they leave the kitchen or utility area.
- Use the official Austin Resource Recovery Residential Services page linked below and select its My Schedule link to review information for your household.
- Before collection day, use your checklist to empty or consolidate each indoor staging container according to the information you find through the official schedule tool.
- Wipe the staging tray or surrounding work surface using the directions for that surface and return containers to their designated indoor location.
Safety and boundaries
- Never mix bleach with ammonia, acids, vinegar, alcohol, or other cleaners.
- Keep staging containers clear of exits, stairs, and areas where they could create a trip hazard.
- This organization guide does not state collection eligibility, frequency, timing, placement, or accepted-material rules; consult the official source and My Schedule for household-specific information.
